St. John’s Church and JACK’S Place for Autism Foundation announced details for this year’s Billy Baroo Invitational and revealed a new event, ZooFari, to coincide with the Invitational. The events, which take place at Rackham Golf Club and the Detroit Zoo on July 8, raise funds for JACK’S PLACE for Autism Foundation.

Billy Baroo Invitational registrants will begin their day at Rackham Golf Club with a 9 a.m. shot gun start. Golfers will be placed into groups and start at different holes at the same time, working their way around the 18-hole course throughout the day. The ZooFari is a daylong event where families can explore the Detroit Zoo and encounter many different kinds of animals. Unlike the Invitational, the ZooFari has no start time, meaning those registered for the ZooFari experience can begin their day at any time.

“When we thought of putting together the event this year, we made it clear that we wanted this to be a fantastic weekend event for the entire family,” said Lisa Price, president and co-founder of JACK’S PLACE for Autism Foundation. “With Rackham Golf Club and the Detroit Zoo close to one another, we are able to keep the whole family close to each other.”

The Invitational and ZooFari conclude with a banquet dinner held at the Detroit Zoo. The banquet will feature an award ceremony, raffle and silent auction. Food will be provided at the banquet and cocktail packages are available for purchase.

Participants will have five packages to select from for the day, which include:

• Giraffe Golf Package ($100) – 18 holes of golf – lunch on the course | Entrance to Zoo & parking | ZooFari Banquet – food, awards, raffle & silent auction

• Seal Family Zoo Package ($100) – Zoo entrance & parking for family of four | Food vouchers for four people

• Penguin Zoo/Banquet/Drink Package ($70) – Zoo entrance & parking | ZooFari Banquet – food, awards, raffle & silent auction | Cocktails

• Flamingo Zoo/Banquet Package ($50) – Zoo entrance & parking | ZooFari Banquet – food, awards, raffle & silent auction
