Details announced for new Soccer league

JACK’S PLACE for Autism Foundation, in partnership with Downriver Family YMCA and United Sports Southgate Youth Soccer, announced details of an upcoming fall soccer league. A League For Everyone is a youth soccer program that will allow children ages 6 through 10, with or without special needs to learn about the sport of soccer and play with and against friends. The league will place an extraordinary amount of emphasis on promoting player health, establishing friendships, working as a team and communicating with peers on and off the field.

Each team in the league will have two staff members serving as coaches and volunteers to help the players feel comfortable, learn the game and have fun. Participants will be invited to a pre-season clinic on August 19 or August 26, starting from 10 am to 11 am. The league will begin September 9 and run through October 14. Actual times of the games will be announced in the future. Practices will be held on Saturdays 45 minutes before the start of a game.

Registration for the league is $45 and all participants will be provided a team jersey, courtesy of Challenger Soccer, as well as food and snacks. To register, visit the Downriver Family YMCA or call their main line at (734) 282-9622 for more information regarding registration. There is no membership required.
